David here.
Instead of reviewing, let's play a game. If you know a fact about the White Tiger (place he was born, name of his great grandmother, his driver friends, things he likes to chew on), post a comment here. If you include your name (codes get tiring) you get a brownie point :>
Basically what I'm trying to do here is compensate for my current inability to help you. So we're going to have a kind of forum where everyone can randomly put up a piece of trivia about the White Tiger. In effect, we come up with a collection of facts for tomorrow's test. :D It's peer review. =))
I'll start. Mr. Balram Halwai was originally called Munna, which means boy. He didn't have a real name. :p

balram's rooster coop theory: all the slaves are comparable to roosters, stuffed into cages, to busy fighting for space to breathe to try and escape. they were born that way, and it is not their goal to escape. that's why india is the way it is.
August 17, 2009 at 7:11 AM
there are four poets mentioned, but only three are named. i don't know who they are.(candy.... :-")
August 17, 2009 at 7:15 AM
balram likes chandeliers.
india and china are pitted against each other as powers of asia.
the english phrase learned from pinky madam is "what a f***ing joke".
they tell pinky madam she only ran over a dog.
cockroaches abound in the room where balram sleeps.
balram once dresses as a rich man and walks
into the mall.
dharam is the relative sent to live with him.
balram kills ashok with a bottle (if im not mistaken)
August 17, 2009 at 7:18 AM
Doesn't he hit him with the bottle and uses the shards to slit his throat? I'm not sure.
August 17, 2009 at 7:20 AM
A Johnnie Walker Black bottle.
Four poets are:
Iqbal, Rumi, Mirza Ghalib, and the anonymous one.
August 17, 2009 at 7:20 AM
Wow, I don't remember being serious about the LTs for the novels last year with Ma'am Osit. =))
August 17, 2009 at 7:21 AM
Yep.
Jethro's right.
He rammed him three times with the bottle. He was still alive, and crawled and hissed.
Tapos he pierced/slit his throat.
"... and his lifeblood spurted into my eyes."
August 17, 2009 at 7:22 AM
Diba yung Anonymous yung nagsabi nung couplet thing na inuulit ni Balram?
August 17, 2009 at 7:23 AM
which couplet is that? un ba ung "i was looking for the key, but the door was always open?"
August 17, 2009 at 7:25 AM
Hindi stated.
August 17, 2009 at 7:31 AM
Why is chicken so... special? :|
August 17, 2009 at 7:31 AM
+ The bottle was Johnnie Walker Black, drank by the two politicians (Great Socialist side? I'M NOT SURE), Vijay and company. Balram hit him on the head with the bottle, steps on him, then found a spot on the pit of his throat and pressed it there. You can kill someone that way. :-j *blood spurts out of neck* (EW)
+ Mr. Krishna --- teacher at Balram's old school
+ 'You were looking for the key for years / But the door was always open.' --- Muslim bookseller
+ How does the enterprising driver earn a little cash? 1) Siphon petrol from car, 2) Goes to a corrupt mechanic, 3) Benefits from master's carelessness, 4) Turns car into freelance taxi.
August 17, 2009 at 7:35 AM
Waitwaitwait...
Ano yung magkalaban sa elections?

August 17, 2009 at 8:16 AM
I'm going to go sleep na, people. :))
August 17, 2009 at 8:20 AM
'Any boy in any village can grow up to become the prime minister of India. That is his message to little children all over this land.' (Balram on the Great Socialist's message)
I think Great Socialist vs Government, tapos yung Landlords kung saan-saan nagsside. Ata. :|
